E–Discovery in Arbitration: Guidelines for E–Discovery in the World of Mediation & Alternative Dispute Resolution

Often overlooked, however, is the critical function e–discovery plays. While there are a number of nuances, e–discovery still has a role to play even in the most informal ADR procedures. Join presenters Martin Quinn, Esq., an expert mediator and JAMS panelist and Dean Gonsowski, Esq. VP of E–Discovery Services at Clearwell Systems as they share e–discovery best practices for navigating ADR and discuss the changes required in the e–discovery process for successful arbitrations or mediations.

About the Presenters:

Martin Quinn, Esq.

Martin Quinn, Esq. settles, arbitrates, and manages complex legal disputes. He is highly regarded by counsel for his ability to understand complex legal issues and human emotions, which puts litigants at ease and makes them feel that they’ve been treated fairly. A trial lawyer for over 25 years and a full–time mediator and JAMS panelist since 1995, Mr. Quinn specializes in resolving business and complex tort disputes. As a major part of his practice, he is appointed as special master or referee in federal and state class actions and other complex lawsuits. Mr. Quinn teaches mediation as an adjunct professor at Hastings Law School.

Dean Gonsowski, Esq.

Dean Gonsowski, Esq. VP of E–Discovery Services at Clearwell Systems Dean brings over a decade of e–discovery consulting and legal practice experience to his position. He is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1), the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and teaches a series of continuing legal education (CLE) courses on various e–discovery topics. He has contributed articles to a number of leading industry publications including: Business Week, Corporate Counsel, ILTA Peer to Peer, Inside Counsel and the Legal Tech Newsletter. Dean also has been invited to speak at eDiscovery Series, LegalTech New York 2010 and the Masters Conference.
