Former CenterRun CEO Joins Clearwell Systems
Aaref A. Hilaly Strengthens Executive Team with Proven Leadership
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – October 3, 2005 – Clearwell Systems, Inc., provider of the industry’s first Email Intelligence solutions, today named Aaref A. Hilaly as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Hilaly brings extensive technology, entrepreneurial management, and Fortune 500 consulting expertise to his position with Clearwell. Just prior to joining Clearwell Systems, Hilaly was Co-founder and CEO of CenterRun, which he led from inception in 2000 to its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in August 2003. CenterRun became a leading provider of application provisioning software with customers such as Genentech, First American Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, Staples, and VeriSign.

Prior to co-founding CenterRun, Hilaly worked in corporate and business development at Excite@Home Networks, which at that time was one of the world's largest Internet companies. He joined Excite@Home from The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting company. At BCG, Hilaly led projects advising Fortune 500 companies on a variety of sales, marketing and product development issues, with particular focus in software and telecommunications.
Hilaly earned an MBA from Harvard Business School with high distinction as a Baker Scholar. He holds a BA Honor’s degree from Oxford University, and a Master’s degree from McGill University, where he was awarded the Arthur Tagge Fellowship.
